Chadians began voting for a president on Monday (6 May) in an election ostensibly aimed at ending military rule but dismissed by opponents of junta leader Mahamat Idriss Deby as a farce.
Voters trickled into a polling station in Ndjambal Ngato near the presidency, AFP reporters saw, adding there were just a few voters gathered elsewhere in the capital N'Djamena.
