BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said that many leaders and activists of his party had made immense sacrifice to establish democracy and ensure voting rights of the countrymen.

"People want to see their government and parliament by exercising their voting rights. If it is needed, BNP leaders and activists are ready to make sacrifices again to this end as there is no scope to deviate their concentration from this goal," he added.

Amir Khasru was speaking as the chief guest at a rally organized by Jubo Dal at city's Biplob Udyan on Saturday afternoon marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day. Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman declared the country's independence Kalurghat Betar Kendra.

The senior BNP leader said, "None can snatch the country's democracy and none can say what the country's politics will be in the future. Only the countrymen can take the decision to this end".

"Many had tried to present the people's decision many times. In the post-independence era, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had also tried, did he succeed? Later, Ershad had tried and then Sheikh Hasina; did they succeed? Thus instead of going through that way, let allow people choose the right  decision," he added.

Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Amir Khasru said, had formed BNP with the spirit of Bangladeshi nationalism, economic freedom and a sovereign state, where people will stand with keeping their heads high.

“That’s why BNP as a nationalistic political party exists till today thwarting all sorts of conspiracy hatched against it the past,” he observed.

Central Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna, General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, central and local leaders, among others, addressed the function.
