Nestled near the banks of the Matamuhuri River are imposing hills, flanking an artificial lake that has been created between them. This picturesque lake is equipped with boats for kayaking, providing visitors with an exhilarating experience amidst stunning natural surroundings. For easier access to the iconic 'Shet Pathor', a cluster of 8-10 boats is conveniently stationed, facilitating seamless transportation.

Furthermore, tourists have the opportunity to extend their stay and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the area, as overnight accommodations are available. The park known as 'Nivrite Nishorgo', nestled amidst the confluence of rivers and hills in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, has emerged as a sought-after destination for travelers. It serves as a haven for those seeking solace and adventure alike, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Apart from the renowned Cox's Bazar sea beach, the allure of 'Nivrite Nishorgo' lies in its pristine natural beauty and tranquil ambiance. Surrounded by the enchanting landscape of rivers and hills in Chakaria, this park offers visitors a refreshing escape from the typical tourist hotspots.

Former Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, Md Kamal Hossain, inaugurated the park's development work on December 26, 2020, near the Matamuhuri River of Surajpur-Manikpur UP. Subsequently, the then UNO of Chakaria, Syed Samshul Tabriz, revamped it into an entertainment park. Presently, the current UNO, Fakhrul Islam, oversees the park's modernisation.

During the second day of the last Eid, the park echoed with the presence of travel enthusiasts. People of all ages flocked to the lively venue, some navigating 'Shet Pathor' in boats with their families, while others engaged in kayaking, capturing selfies, and recording videos. Amidst the crowd, several groups brought tents to spend the night, adding to the park's vibrant atmosphere.

Helal Uddin a local boatman said, “We have 8-10 boats here in the park. The fare to travel to ‘Shet Pathor’ from ‘Nivrite Nishorgo’ by boat is around 800 taka, whereas the price for kayaking is 200 taka on an hourly basis.”

The Chairman of Surajpur-Manikpur UP Azimul Haque Azim said, “A huge crowd of tourists visits the park every day. But gets more congested during the EID and other holidays. The village police are primarily responsible for the security of the visitors.”
“If Police were appointed for tourists then the park area would be more secure”, he added.

Sheikh Mohammad Ali Officer-In-Charge of Chakaria Thana said, “Chakaria have a few tourist spots. We are aware of the security of these spots so that no unpleasant events take place, and tourist police always working for the safety of the visitors. Besides local Police are also ensuring safe tourism.”
