A man was crushed under the wheels of a train at Harijan Colony area in Sadar upazila on Monday (3 March).
The deceased was identified as Zahidul Islam, 70, son of late Saheb Ali, resident of Puranapail village of the upazila.
Sub-inspector (SI) of Santahar Railway Police Naresh Chandra Roy said Zahidul Islam died after being crushed under the wheels of the Rajshahi-bound Uttara Express train while he was crossing the rail line around 5.30am.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Joypurhat Modern Hospital morgue, the SI added.
