The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, set to be hosted by Bangladesh in October.

The tournament will be played across two venues: Sylhet and Dhaka.

Bangladesh will begin their campaign on October 3rd in Dhaka against Qualifier 2. Their subsequent group stage matches will see them face England (October 5th), West Indies (October 9th), and South Africa (October 12th), all in Dhaka.

Prior to the main event, Bangladesh will participate in two warm-up matches in Savar, facing New Zealand on September 28th and India on September 30th.

Ten teams will compete in the tournament, divided into two groups.

Group A comprises Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Qualifier 1, while Group B features Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Qualifier 2.

The two qualifying teams will be determined through a qualifying tournament currently underway.

Nigar Sultana, the Bangladesh captain, said it would be an honor for Bangladesh to host a prestigious event like the T20 World Cup.

“We are thrilled at the announcement of the fixture schedule for the ninth ICC Women’s T20 World Cup,” the Bangladesh captain said. “For the country, it’s an honor to host such a prestigious event, where our passionate fans can experience the best of international women’s cricket firsthand.”

“Our team has worked hard to improve, and playing in home conditions adds to our determination. We urge our fans to support us; their motivation fuels our performance,” she added.
