Mahmudul Alam Babu, the suspended UP chairman, the prime accused in the murder case of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadim, has confessed to his involvement in the murder.
After a five-day remand, he was produced before the Jamalpur Judicial Magistrate Hasib Ullah Pias on Friday (23 June) and his statement was recorded under Section 164 of The Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
He was sent to jail after the court recorded his statement.
Earlier, Golam Rabbani Nadim, came under attack by some 14-15 people on June 14 on his way home after work in Bokshiganj.
Critically injured in the attack, Nadim was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he passed away the next day.
