The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, February 15, with notable shifts observed in the Dinajpur Secondary Higher Secondary Education Board. While the number of examinees has decreased, the count of participating schools has risen.

This year, the number of examinees has dwindled, contrasting with a surge in participating schools. A total of 199,336 students from eight districts of the Rangpur Division are poised to take part in the SSC examination under this education board.

According to reports from the Dinajpur Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, a total of 199,436 candidates from 2,775 schools across the same eight districts will sit for the 2024 SSC examination. This figure marks a decrease of 1,923 students compared to last year's enrollment of 201,359. However, the number of participating schools has risen from 2,703 to 2,775, reflecting an increase of 72 schools from the previous year. Furthermore, the total number of examination centers has reached 278, marking an increase of one center from the previous year.

Dinajpur district hosts the highest number of candidates, with 40,852 students distributed across 61 centers. Conversely, Panchagarh boasts the lowest number of examinees at 14,301 students across 22 centers.

Professor Mir Sajjad Ali, the Examination Controller of Dinajpur Education Board, assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a fair and tranquil examination environment. Stringent measures have been implemented to prevent question paper leaks, with equipment already dispatched to respective districts and upazilas. Close monitoring of examination centers, coupled with strict directives to central authorities and law enforcement agencies, aims to curb irregularities during the examination process.

Ali emphasized the close monitoring of all examination centers, with central secretaries instructed to enforce strict protocols to curb irregularities. Additionally, local administrations are extending full cooperation to facilitate the smooth conduct of examinations, while law enforcement personnel remain vigilant to maintain order and security throughout the process.
