Chaudanga has been experiencing a severe heatwave with the highest temperature for the past five consecutive days, causing immense suffering to normal life.
The district has experienced only two days of light rainfall accompanied by gusty wind over last one month. Normal life in the district has been disrupted.
Tahmina Nasrin, an official with the Chuadanga Weather Observatory, said 40.8 Degree Celsius temperature, the country’s highest, was recorded in the district on Wednesday (10 May).
She said though there is a possibility of rain in some parts of the country, the heatwave in the district will remain unchanged for a few more days.
With the country’s highest temperature, 37.5 Degree Celsius on Saturday, 39.2 Degree Celsius on Sunday, 41 Degree Celsius on Monday, and 41.2 Degree Celsius were recorded in the district, the weather officer added.
