Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) arrested two robbers including Rahim Sultan alias Bayezid, leader of inter- district robber gang from city's Mirpur area.
The arrested were identified as robber gang leader Rahim Sultan alias Bayezid, 27, hailed from Faridpur district and Md. Bellal Hossain, 35, from Cumilla district.
RAB team also seized a foreign made pistol, two round of bullet, a hefty amount of money, two mobile phones and one motorcycle from their possession, said senior ASP (Media) of RAB-4 Ziaur Rahaman Chowdhury told the media on Sunday (31 March).
Acting on a tip- off, a team of RAB-4 conducted drives in Pirerbagh area under Mirpur model police station of the city last night and arrested them.
The RAB official said that the arrested persons are active members of an inter-district robbery gang. Several cases are filed against them under different police station of DMP including robbery, illegal weapons, banditry and theft, he added.
The arrested were handed over to the concerned police stations, RAB officials said.
