Popular actor Jaya Ahsan is all set to star in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s comeback to directing Bengali cinema after a decade. She herself has confirmed about in her official facebook page. Jaya said Aniruddha is making a Tollywood movie titled ‘Dear Maa’ after ten-year hiatus and she has thanked the director for choosing her in this project.
The film features Jaya Ahsan in the lead role, with Chandan Roy Sanyal portraying her husband and Saswata Chatterjee in a pivotal role. The story is written by Sakyajit Bhattacharya.
The storyline revolves around the bond between parents and children within a nuclear family. It narrates the journey of a mother as she navigates the challenges of raising her daughter. The film has a subtle touch of thriller elements woven into the narrative. Jaya Ahsan will depict the role of the mother. According to the actress, such a story has never been told before.
Additionally, actor Dhritiman Chatterjee will be featured in the role of a teacher. The shooting will start from the third week of May. But before that, the director is conducting a workshop with the actors. He said that both Jaya and Chandan are currently in Kolkata for the workshop.
