Campbelltown City Mayoral Iftar and Dinner in Sydney 

Mayor George Grace of Campbelltown City Council hosted an iftar and dinner in honour of Muslims at the local civic hall on March 21 (Thursday).

In this iftar held at 6:30 pm, Sheikh Waleed led a prayer for the Muslim Ummah highlighting the significance of the Holy Month of Ramadan. 

Campbelltown City Council Deputy Mayor Councillor Muhamad Ibrahim Khalil Masud, Councillor Masood Chowdhury, Commonwealth Bank Managers Mr Mohamad Rahman, Mr Mohammad Shariful Azam Chowdhury along with senior administration officials, Bangladeshi and Muslim community leaders were present at the Iftar ceremony.

After Iftar, the guests performed Maghrib prayers. Deputy Mayor Councillor Muhamad Ibrahim Khalil Masud was present in place of Council Mayor George Grace’s absence and gave a welcome speech before the Iftar. He expressed his sincere gratitude towards the leaders of the Bangladeshi and Muslim community for participating in the Iftar and dinner.

Campbelltown City Council is also hosting a second full street-wide Ramadan Night Festival at Lithgow Street in Campbelltown on March 22 and 23 from 4.30pm to 11.30pm.
