Nari Maitree, a prominent organization dedicated to advocating for women's empowerment and health, is currently convening an Advocacy Workshop at the Sonargaon Hotel in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The workshop held on Monday (25 March) aims to mobilize Civil Society and Policy Makers for the National Strategic Plan for TB Control (NFM4) and the upcoming United Nations High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on Tuberculosis.

This event serves as a crucial platform for stakeholders to come together and address the urgent issue of Tuberculosis, emphasizing the significance of NFM4 and the impending UNHLM on TB. The program, chaired by Shaheen Akter Dolly, the Executive Director of Nari Maitree, and graced by Shabnam Jahan Shila, a distinguished Member of Parliament, highlights the collaborative efforts between civil society and policymakers in tackling this pressing public health challenge.

Shaheen Akter Dolly, with her visionary leadership as the Executive Director of Nari Maitree, is steering the program towards meaningful engagement and productive discourse on crucial issues concerning the National Strategic Plan for TB Control (NFM4) and the upcoming United Nations High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on Tuberculosis.  The gracious presence of Shabnab Jahan Shila, Member of Parliament, adds significant weight to the event, underlining the government's commitment and support towards addressing the challenges posed by Tuberculosis. Her participation as the chief guest underscores the collaborative efforts between civil society and policymakers in combating this pressing public health issue.

During the group discussion session, Khaled Bin Yousuf, serving as the Program Coordinator of Nari Maitree, emphasized "Stopping TB by 2030 is not just a goal; it's a moral imperative. We must unite our efforts, mobilize communities, and prioritize resources to ensure no one is left behind in this fight against tuberculosis."

Together, they have made notable progress towards realizing the commitments established during the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis.
